about us

A social group of dedicated fly fishers who are passionate about fly fishing in the tropical north of Australia and equally as passionate about the close camaraderie this sport brings. This passion and dedication led to the creation of the NT Flyfishers Social Mob blog site; an interactive and creative outlet where everyone can share our wonderful fly fishing adventures and link into the “after fishing” social events we enjoy in this incredible part of the world.

IS IT Déjà vu

Is it all going to happen again??? 2006 was a great year to fish!!

In light of my latest post, it is interesting to note that of the 15 cyclones in the northern and eastern seas during April (1970-2011), only 2 turned away from the QLD coast (as forecasted for the current cyclone by the GFS model). It is far more common to see a WSW track to hit the north QLD coast, as forecast by the ECMWF and BOM models. The most famous for us being Severe Tropical Cyclone Monica in 2006.
