Corroboree Billabong 2/4/14

We did a trip to Corroboree on Wednesday for an afternoon session.  The water looks really good with lots of water lillies in flower on the flood plains.

Water Lillies

It wasn't long before the first Toga was landed from in between some lilly stalks.  The water was so clear you could see your fly from the moment it hit the water.

First Toga of the day

Jack's fly in action again

The fishing was fairly slow with not a lot of action apart from Tarpon.   The Toga were caught on wet flies & the hook up rate seems to be a lot better than with surface flies.  Rodgy Dodgy's black fur fly also accounted for numerous Tarpon.

Tarpon were plentiful

Interestingly we spotted 3 dead Toga on the way back to the ramp.  I was wondering if this is due to the high water temperature of around 34 degrees?

Get out & fish, its great therapy!

  1. Great report Jon and Jack. The real question is "When are we going to see photos of the New White Boat??"
