about us

A social group of dedicated fly fishers who are passionate about fly fishing in the tropical north of Australia and equally as passionate about the close camaraderie this sport brings. This passion and dedication led to the creation of the NT Flyfishers Social Mob blog site; an interactive and creative outlet where everyone can share our wonderful fly fishing adventures and link into the “after fishing” social events we enjoy in this incredible part of the world.

MORE FROM JONO IN THE WEST

Quite possibly one of the most rewarding dayS of fly fishing in Exmouth. It's become common practice for Shane and I to double up on whatever we're targeting. This was our 'day off' yesterday.

One of the most unique things about Australia and Exmouth in particular is that we get two difference species of permit swimming in the same waters.

The more rounded faced T Blochii and the other more snub-nosed T Anak. We managed to catch both fish on the same flat — with Jono Shales and Shane Wunhym at Exmouth Fly Fishing.

We also managed 3 metre plus queenfish and 5 stonking longtail tuna ... but those feats pale in comparison to landing 2 species of Aussie permit on the same flats on the same day
