Reports from the weekend all seem to indicate that the storms, causing a lot of fresh to come into the Harbours, filled the harbours with Jelly prawns so the fish were not as active. Although Lord Jim and some of the Mob found heaps of barra, they were all lazing in the sun with full bellies and didn't want anymore.
The rain cut off the road to Sand Palms Friday night, and some had to be towed through the water.
While the weather etc. seems to have had a big effect on our fishing, Jono Shales from Exmouth Fly Fishing reports great fishing over there.....wont be long and we will be into all these too!!
Matthew putting the hurt on the tuna with a 10wt fly rod bent into the cork. We came across massive amounts of bait being smashed to bits by big longtails, needless to say the guys had a great afternoon session fishing for them
With a mouth that's just made for inhaling it's prey, it's no wonder they make such fantastic sight fishing targets. Pink clousers were the order of the day and Bruce managed a lovely back cast to this fish which was just cruising the shallows looking for a feed. 110cm of queenfish, thank you very much!
