about us

A social group of dedicated fly fishers who are passionate about fly fishing in the tropical north of Australia and equally as passionate about the close camaraderie this sport brings. This passion and dedication led to the creation of the NT Flyfishers Social Mob blog site; an interactive and creative outlet where everyone can share our wonderful fly fishing adventures and link into the “after fishing” social events we enjoy in this incredible part of the world.

Jennifer was missing but Daniel was there !

Hi Guys,

Just back from a few more days down at Bynoe.  The tides were outstanding but the wind was a pain.  There was quiet a few of 'The Social Mob' down there too.

Lord Jim was on a search down there for the elusive Jennifer Hawkins only to find out that Pete Davies had upstaged him and taken her out crabbing on his boat.    I don't know if Jim is still talking to Pete now.

Just on Pete and the 'Black Dog Club',  they are looking at running a competition in conjunction with the 'Beyond Blue' association, that we will keep you informed about as it gets closer.

Back to the fishing, we didn't see as many barra this trip, but the others did well.  Saw some huge bull nosed threadies in a special spot (Code named Daniel Craig) and on 'Flog 'em flats' (Vigilant) there were huge queenies, in ones and two's rounding up smaller fish schools.  We also saw one HUGE milkie that was on a search and destroy mission.

Another one of those pesky tarpon.
