It's a dogs life

Firstly this has nothing to do with fishing!

We recently did our first camping trip with our dog Diesel.  For those of you with dogs Mary River Park is quite happy for you to take them along.  We were unsure as to how the trip would go but Diesel soon got the hang of it!

We took our 3m punt on the trip with us for its maiden voyage.  Jack & myself were keen to try it out, however Jenni was concerned about the crocs, so we took it back out without wetting a line.  Lord Jim will have to be the test pilot whilst we are on holidays overseas.

The dynamic duo had tied some flies for the trip earlier in the week.  I am yet to receive my share?

Diesel had a captive audience & was keen to go on the bamboo walk every day.  So keen in fact that he woke us up early in the morning (he knew the wallabies were around).  This did result is some over exertion & sprained muscles.  A rub down from mum was required.

The last two nights we abandoned our powered site to light a fire in the existing fire place.  We had our evening meal by the camp fire.  Diesel would join us off lead until the wallabies came out on dusk.  There may have been some single malt consumed for medicinal purposes (it was cold out there)

Diesel was on his best behaviour and soon got the hang of staying within our site boundaries.  He spent a lot of time off lead and was very friendly to everyone in the park.

Whilst we didn't fish we did get out and enjoy this fantastic place we live in.

    Could not agree more than what a "fantastic place we live in". Sandy Billabong here I come! Will give you a call to make arrangements.

    Hi guys, be wary of the big croc up on the straight stretch before it narrows off to a sand bar on the bridge billabong (about 2 or 3km unpstream) I was sneaking around out there a couple of weeks ago and a large male 4-4.5m kept his distance but was really curious and quietly followed me down the billabong. I think he is a bit of an attraction with the tour boat at Mary River Park. Anyway I hope your tinny doesn't live up to its namesake.
