about us

A social group of dedicated fly fishers who are passionate about fly fishing in the tropical north of Australia and equally as passionate about the close camaraderie this sport brings. This passion and dedication led to the creation of the NT Flyfishers Social Mob blog site; an interactive and creative outlet where everyone can share our wonderful fly fishing adventures and link into the “after fishing” social events we enjoy in this incredible part of the world.

First for 2016

After a trip into Shoal Bay yesterday to have a look at the Howard Springs flood plains and no fish (more water from the sky urgently needed) I decided a look at the fresh was in order.

Water still holding but in desperate need of regular top ups to get the real benefit of the Xmas low.

More water wanted

There is heaps of bait fish breeding up which is a great sign for things to come.
"Prop graveyard"

Managed to get my first Toga for 2016 and an aerial performer he was too.

First one for 2016

Great fish species for the fly fisher!

Currently arranging a 4 day trip for next weekend so hopefully a more informative report will come out of it.

Remember, “You'll never never know, if you never never go. Get out there and fish!”
