THE DRY

Well, they say the dry is here, that means the water will cool down, the winds may pick up a bit, and the big pelagics usually start to come into the harbours or hang around the reefs at the mouth of the harbours.   The new moon tides at the end of May is usually the start of some of the best fishing in the harbours with the pelagics chasing the schools of bait. This can extend to the end of August and even well into September.

Each year however, has been different, but the indications are, that it should be an outstanding year for fishing !!

DARRYL WITH A NICE MAC

For the last two years, the big mackeral have only appeared at the top of Indian Island, and not in the schools we used to find further down in the harbour, especially near Knife Island.

This year we have had hits from the big fellas already half way down Indian Island.

Good trevally are hanging around the reefs too, more than the last few years.  The one below was at Knife Island.

Big queenies are hanging around the reefs too....

and then there are the tuna.....
