about us

A social group of dedicated fly fishers who are passionate about fly fishing in the tropical north of Australia and equally as passionate about the close camaraderie this sport brings. This passion and dedication led to the creation of the NT Flyfishers Social Mob blog site; an interactive and creative outlet where everyone can share our wonderful fly fishing adventures and link into the “after fishing” social events we enjoy in this incredible part of the world.

WINTER IN EXMOUTH

From Jono Shales in the west.

check out more from Jono on...https://www.facebook.com/ExmouthFlyFishing  and http://www.exmouthflyfishing.com.au/

Winter permit in Exmouth today. This is Trachinotus Anak, not the usual species that we encounter here as we usually get the Trach Blochii or info-pacific permit. Check out the amazing colours in the afternoon sun, its yellow fins, angular body and the trademark bulbous nose of the Anak.

Congratulations to Mick Lym on his first permit on fly, what a way to open the account.

Can you see the fly he was using? A pink clouser !!

While fishing with my friend and guide Jono Shales in Exmouth, Western Australia last week, I managed to catch my first ever permit. It was an epic session in an amazing location with two fantastic friends - no need to add that I was stoked!
